Istrian cuisine

Istrian delicacies on a wooden board

The flavours of Korte that we share at events and demonstrations — not an online recipe book, but the living kitchen of our grandmothers.

Istrian štruklji with savory

A traditional festive dessert with a distinctive Korte twist. President Rozana Prešern has also presented them on TV Koper Capodistria and Planet TV.

What sets them apart: cooked štruklji and aromatic savory from the sunny Karst soils of the hinterland. We keep the recipe in the association — the best way to taste them is with us, at an event or a baking demonstration.

Šparžini and the season

The association’s name comes from the local word for wild asparagus — more on About us. In spring they are a fresh speciality of the Izola countryside; seasonal flavours and dates are on the Events page.

A kitchen without waste

We took part in the No waste project at the Koper market: cooking with imperfect produce alongside chefs. Food surplus is not waste — it is an opportunity, and the same spirit guides our demonstrations.

Jams and homemade treats

Homemade jams and seasonal treats are in our shop. The website is informational only: order by phone or via the form.
